IJYHL Commissioner, Dave McCarthy has announced the league's decision to support the proposed ADM model that was shown at a league meeting by Ken Rausch and Roger Grillo of USA HOCKEY.  The League will be using USA HOCKEY rules this season, and plans to adapt to the ADM model being developed.   The use of smaller ice surfaces at the lower levels has been a huge concept supported by Directors Rausch and Grillo of USA HOCKEY. We will begin by using this model for practices.   More news on the ADM model will be announced as the information is given to the league.

The New England Stars Bantam Minor team won the Tournament in the Woods yesterday afternoon hosted by Cushing Academy.

After a disappointing loss against the Pro Ambition Panthers, the 97 New England Stars won 4 straight games to win the Tournament In the Woods hosted by Cushing Academy. The winning streak started with a win over league rival NS Raiders, followed by a strong team effort against an offensively talented 495 Stars team that had scored 20 goals in it's first two games. In the semi-finals the Stars would get a second chance against the Panthers. Eric Niemoller scored a pair of late goals to break a tie late in the 3rd period and the Stars held on to a 4-3 win. The 495 Stars were looking for revenge in the Championship game and managed to tie the game at 2 with their goalie pulled. Staying composed, the NE Stars pulled off the win in a shootout. After two misses, Joey Schultz scored the only goal in the shootout and Dalton Doire made all 3 saves to secure the Championship. A great start to what looks to be a promising season.

USA Hockey Individual Online Registration is mandatory and begins April 1, 2010 for the 10/11 season.  All PHD Junior Elite and New England Stars full-season and split-season midget teams are REQUIRED to register with USA Hockey.  (Junior A, Junior B and IJHL Midgets are NOT required to register with USA Hockey.)  Please click here for instructions.
